On April 19, 2011, Elisabeth Sladen, the actress most-recognized as the Doctor Who companion Sara-Jane Smith, died of cancer. There have been several tributes done by her fans and colleagues, both her and across the pond; including the BBC re-playing the 1976 Doctor Who story The Hand of Fear.
I was a late-comer to Doctor Who, and as a result, my admiration of Sarah Jane, and Elisabeth Sladen, started during the time of the Tenth Doctor. As such, I have a hard time separating Elisabeth Sladen from Sarah Jane; the curiosity and vivaciousness of Sarah Jane seemed so true to Elisabeth Sladen that perhaps there was no separation necessary. Though only acquainted with her briefly, she was brilliant, and the kind of woman I would have liked to know personally. Of the tributes done, this one seems the most fitting.
Rest in Peace Our Sarah Jane.
